SHS-AdC tankers top ‘D’Swimber Fest III’

THE swimming team of the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) dominated the year-end annual competition of the Visayas Integrated School Swimming Association (VISSA)–the 16th VISSA Invitational dubbed the “D’Swimber Fest III” held at the Cebu City Aquatic Center inside the Cebu City Sports Center last weekend.

The Magis Eagles accumulated a total of 1,013 points after topping both the boys and girls divisions. Three of its tankers were also named most bemedalled swimmers in their category.

They were Maxine Chua (7-8 years old girls); Bettina Vasquez (13-14 years old girls) and Nikki Go (15-17 years old girls).

SHS-AdC relegated University of San Carlos (USC) to second place with 626 points while Surigao City Swimming Team placed third overall with 382 points.

FEATURED STORIES

Surigao’s boys team hauled 300 points while its girls squad added 82 points.

The fourth and fifth places were occupied by University of Bohol (UB) Rockets with 307 points and Talisay City with 287 points.

BEMEDALLED SWIMMERS

Named bemedalled swimmers in the 6-and-under were John Sitoy of Surigao City Swim Team (SCST) and Coleen Go of Pool Pirates Swim Team; Jeffernyl Relator also of SCST in the 7-8 years old boys; Kent Franzen Cagape and Sherlyn Venturina both of SCST in the 9-10 years old; Patrick Louie Birad (UB) and Pia Allesandra Ballos of Rodriguez Aquatic Sports Academy in the 11-12 years old category.

Others who got commended were USC’s Kyle Lorenzo Nemil and April Goden in the 13-14 years old category; Cynthjune Goden also of USC in the 15-17 years and Ronel Tandayag of the Surigao Dolphins Aquatic Sports Association in the 18-over category.

The event sponsored by Speedo and Sports Adventure Travel Services gathered 11 teams and 112 swimmers.  /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
