BACOLOD CITY — The Commission on Elections has deactivated 85,612 voters in Negros Occidental and its capital, Bacolod City, for failure to vote in two consecutive elections.

The largest number of deactivated voters were in Bacolod City at 42,593, said Provincial Elections Supervisor Jessie Suarez.

He said the list of deactivated voters is posted in barangay halls.

“The deactivated voters can apply for reactivation at the Comelec offices where they were registered,” Suarez said.

He said they only need to fill up a reactivation form at the Comelec offices, which are open Mondays to Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m./lzb
