MANILA, Philippines — A Grade 11 student was on his way to school early Thursday morning when four motorcycle-riding suspects attacked him in Negros Oriental.
A report from Staff Master Sergeant Edilberto Euraoba III, Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) spokesperson, identified the victim as Joshua Philip Melanculico Partosa, 20, of Bulocboloc, Sibulan.
Based on the police’s initial investigation, Partosa just left his home and was supposed to go to Bulocboloc High School when the four suspects shot him.
The already injured Partosa tried to run away but the suspects fired at him again, and when he fell down, another suspect disembarked from the motorcycle and stabbed the victim in the neck.
The assailants managed to quickly escape. Concerned citizens nearby rushed Partosa to the hospital where he later died.
The Sibulan Municipal Police Station said it would conduct a deeper investigation on the incident to identify Partosa’s attackers. /kga
