Today Aug. 15, is the 91st birth anniversary of National Artist for Architecture Leandro V. Locsin.
An important figure in Philippine architecture, his most notable works include the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Folk Arts Theater and Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
From 1955 to 1994, he created 75 residences and 88 buildings, including 11 churches and chapels, 23 public buildings, 48 commercial buildings, six major hotels and an airport terminal building.
Locsin was named a National Artist in 1990.
