2 Chinese nabbed for illegal detention of fellow Chinese in Pasay

MANILA, Philippines — Two Chinese nationals were arrested for illegal detention of a compatriot inside a hotel along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City on Wednesday morning.

Pasay police station said the arrested suspects are Yinhua Gong, 41, and Shuchun Liu, 29, while the rescued victim was identified as Renhu Quin, 31.

The arrest came after the victim’s girlfriend Raquel Inocando and another Chinese man named Mingcheng Cui asked police to rescue Renhu, who was detained for allegedly failing to pay his P200k worth of debt.

Elements of Baclaran police community precinct rushed to the area and apprehended the suspects.

Police said they will conduct follow-up operation to identify the accomplice of the suspects, who is still at large.

Suspects were brought to Pasay Police Station Investigation Division Management Branch while a complaint for illegal detention were filed against them. /je
