Rowdy Korean national arrested for assaulting lady cop

MANILA, Philippines – An unruly and reportedly drunk  Korean national who assaulted a female police officer and figured in an altercation with a taxi driver was arrested and locked up in Pasay City Tuesday morning.

Hyun Yun, 40, a casino manager, was arrested after hitting Police Cpl. Divina Rose Adducul on the head along Sen. Gil J. Puyat Ave (Buendia) at around 4a.m.

Prior to the incident,  taxi driver Bernardo Martinico Jr., 56, sought police assistance after Hyun refused to pay his fare.

Adducul and Sgt. Rico Mendieta intervened and convinced the foreigner to pay up.

Shortly thereafter, however, Hyun hit Adducul on the head using his jacket.

He was promptly arrested.

Hyun, who is detained at the Pasay City police station, has since been charged with oral defamation, direct assault and resisting arrest before the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office. /gsg
