MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte has signed a law creating a hospital for Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel, employees, their dependents and retirees.
Duterte signed Republic Act 11372 or the Philippine Coast Guard General Hospital Act on August 8, a copy of which was released to the media on Wednesday.
The hospital will be constructed in the Coast Guard Base in Taguig City.
The dependents under the new law includes the legitimate spouse who is not a PCG personnel or employee; legitimate, illegitimate or legally adopted children below 21 years old; children of PCG personnel and employees over 21 years old who are incapacitated and incapable of self-support due to mental, physical or any disability; and parents who rely upon the PCG personnel or employee for financial support.
The PCG General Hospital will be administered by the Commandant of the PCG, who will serve as chairperson. /gsg
