Man surrenders to authorities after stabbing 2 individuals in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines — A man surrendered to authorities after he allegedly stabbed dead a construction worker and wounded another who were in a drinking session in Caloocan City on Monday afternoon.

In a report from the Caloocan City police, victims Jun-Jun Recto, 40, and Rodolfo Almonia, 46, were having a drinking session when the suspect, Joseph Elmer Jalober, 47, suddenly emerged in Barangay 176, Bagong Silang, and threatened to harm them.

When a heated argument escalated, the suspect pulled out a bolo and stabbed Recto in the chest and Almonia in the left arm.

Concerned citizens rushed the injured victims to the Dr. Jose Rodriguez Hospital where Recto later died. Almonia, however, is still undertaking medical treatment at the hospital.

Jalober later turned himself up to authorities in Barangay 176. He was later transferred to the Caloocan City police community precinct-3 to face criminal charges. /jpv
