Robredo on Eid’l Adha: Pray for Marawi citizens, Muslim refugees
MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo urged the public to pray for citizens of Marawi and Muslim refugees who were displaced from their families as the country commemorates Ed’l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice on Sunday.
Eid’l Adha is an Islamic holiday to remember the willingness of Ibrahim (also known as Abraham) to follow Allah’s command to sacrifice his son.
Robredo also called for the unity of Filipinos despite differences in religion.
“Isa rin itong pambihirang pagkakataon upang mas pagtibayin ang ating nagkakaisang lahi: isang bayang walang iniiwan at tinatalikuran, anuman ang relihiyon, kulay ng balat, o lugar na pinagmulan,” the Vice President said. /je
