DAVAO CITY—The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has began work to secure funding for a P4.5 billion, 66-kilometer road connecting Davao City and Malaybalay City in Bukidnon.
Once completed, it will serve as bypass link to the existing Davao-Bukidnon Road which serves as the main artery for goods and people for Mindanao’s northern and southern regions.
Allan Borromeo, DPWH regional director, said in a letter to the city council that the Davao-Bukidnon Road “has several sections prone to road slips and landslides.”
Borromeo is seeking council endorsement for the project which is required for funding. The timetable for project completion is five years. /tsb
