MANILA, Philippines—Three were dead and seven were missing as a northeast monsoon affected
Northern and Central Luzon, the National Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Council said Wednesday.
Edgar Montemayor of Sanchez Mira, Cagayan; Joey Quirabu of San Pablo, Isabela; Job Cabloy of Baguio City died in La Union. All died from drowning while those reported missing were Eugenio Valdez Padilla of San Fernando City, La Union; Cesar Vargas, Santi Reynon, Alex Tacla of Baler, Aurora; and Eduardo Donato, Samuel Donato Jr., and Samuel Donato Sr. of Dilasag, Aurora, NDRRMC said.
A total of 56,018 persons or 13,427 families were affected by the northeast monsoon in Region II (Cagayan Valley) and Region III (Central Luzon), the NDRRMC said.
Among the roads that remain impassable are Divisoria-Lanna road in Cagayan; roads going to barangays Ayod, Bucal Sur, Bucal Norte, Dimalaude, Dimapigue in Isabela; Baler-Casiguran Road (Brgy. Dianned in Dipaculao; Casiguran-Dilasag Road in Aurora, NDRRMC added.
The following bridges are also declared impassable: Bagunot Overflow Bridge, Abusag Overflow Bridge, Ragarag Overflow Bridge in Baggao, Cagayan; Tawi Oveflow Bridge in Penablanca, Cagayan; Pinacanauan (Capatan) Overflow Bridge in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; Itawes Overflow Bridge in Tuao, Cagayan; Santa Barbara Bridge in Piat, Cagayan; Cabagan- Sto. Tomas Overflow Bridge in Sto. Tomas, Isabela; Sta. Maria- Cabagan Overflow Bridge in Sta. Maria, Isabela; Alicaocao Overflow Bridge, Sipat Overflow Bridge in Cauayan City, Isabela.
