MANILA, Philippines — The Sevilla Bridge in Mandaluyong City will be closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday, August 10, in connection to the construction of the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced Thursday.
In an advisory, the MMDA said the bridge, which connects the cities of Mandaluyong and San Juan, will be closed starting 10 p.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. Sunday, August 11.
It explained that the contractor of the Metro Manila Skyway will move two 180 tonner cranes which will be used for the installation of the coping beams. Due to this, the bridge has to be closed.
The MMDA advised affected motorists to take alternative routes.
The Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 is an 18.68-kilometer elevated expressway starting from Buendia in Makati to Balintawak in Quezon City.
The project is expected to reduce travel time from two hours to 15 to 20 minutes, the MMDA said. /je
