MANILA, Philippines — Ruling party Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) on Wednesday night hosted a victory party for Senator Manny Pacquiao over his recent win against American boxer Keith Thurman.
Among those present at the party were Pacquiao, party president Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, and neophyte senators Francis Tolentino and Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.

The victory party was held amid reports of several party members transferring to other political parties such as the National Unity Party (NUP).
As of Tuesday, a source said only 50 of the more than 80 PDP Laban House members have confirmed their attendance for the gathering.
A text message from PDP-Laban asking its members to confirm their membership surfaced on Tuesday.
This was later confirmed by Pimentel who explained that the party conducts a periodic updating of party membership.
