Rainy Monday predicted for parts of Luzon

MANILA, Philippines — Several parts of Luzon are expected to be rainy on Monday, Aug. 5, with Tropical Storm Hanna still in the Philippine area of responsibility, according to a bulletin issued at 11 p.m. on Sunday by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

Light to moderate with at times heavy monsoon rain will fall over the northern portion of Palawan — including Calamian and Cuyo Islands — and Mindoro provinces.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, the rest of Mimaropa, and the Visayas.

As 10 p.m. Saturday, the center Hanna was estimated to be at 945 km east of Tuguegarao City in Cagayan.

It was moving west-northwest 15 kph with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and a gustiness of up to 80 kph.
