MANILA, Philippines – The trough or extension of Tropical Depression Hanna and the southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies, rain showers and thunderstorms across the country on Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Pagasa warned of possible flashfloods and landslides.
As of 3 a.m., “Hanna” was 1,095 kilometers (km) east of Infanta, Quezon with a maximum sustained wind speed of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of 70 kph, Pagasa said.
It was moving west northwest at 15 kph, Pagasa added.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon will bring rains over Metro Manila, Mimaropa, Bataan, Zambales, Cavite, Laguna and Batangas.
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in the Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Western Visayas and the rest central Luzon. /gsg
