2 tornadoes destroy houses in Negros Occidental towns

BACOLOD CITY—Seven houses were destroyed while 41 others were damaged when two tornadoes hit Negros Occidental around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. No one was hurt.

Zeaphard Gerhart Caelian, Provincial Disaster Management Program chief, said the tornadoes destroyed four houses and damaged 27 others at the village of Carmona, Pontevedra town; and destroyed three houses and damaged 14 at the village of RSB, La Carlota City.

At least 31 families, he said, were displaced in Carmona while 17 families were displaced in RSB./tsb
