More rains seen from LPA, monsoon

MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon and a low pressure area will continue to bring heavy rains over most parts of the country.

The LPA, spotted 1,060 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes, is likely to intensify in the next two days. It will be locally named Hanna, said weather specialist Raymond Ordinario.

Bicol Region, Visayas, Caraga and Davao Region will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains due to the trough of LPA.

The southwest monsoon continues to affect the western section of Luzon.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Zamabales, Bataan and Central Luzon will continue to experience monsoon rains.

Classes and work in government offices in Metro Manila and some parts of Luzon were suspended due to the heavy downpour.

The rest of the country will have fair weather and isolated rain showers. /je
