MANILA, Philippines — Some local government units have suspended classes on Friday, August 2, due to heavy rain in select parts of the country brought by the southwest monsoon or “habagat” and the trough of a low-pressure area.

Classes in all levels, both public and private schools, are suspended this day in the following areas:
National Capital Region:
– Manila
– Malabon (afternoon classes)
– Parañaque (afternoon classes)
– Taguig (afternoon classes)
– San Juan (afternoon classes)
– Marikina (afternoon classes)
– Caloocan (afternoon classes)
– Las Piñas (afternoon classes)
– Pasay (afternoon classes)
– Pasig (afternoon classes)
– Mandaluyong (afternoon classes)
– Quezon City (afternoon classes)
– Muntinlupa (afternoon classes)
-Navotas (afternoon classes)
– Valenzuela (afternoon classes)
– Pateros (afternoon classes)
– Makati (Elementary, High School, and the University of Makati effective 12 noon)
Provinces:
– Pampanga
– Bataan
– Rizal (afternoon classes)
– Pangasinan: Infanta, Bugallon, Bani, Mabini
