A man found a frozen baby while clearing out his departed mother’s freezer, and now believes that the baby was his sister who passed away before he was born.
Thirty-seven-year-old Adam Smith discovered the cadaver while going through his mother’s apartment in Missouri, United States, NBC- affiliate KSDK reported on Monday, July 29.
Smith recently moved into his mother’s apartment to take care of her until she died of cancer last week. As he went through his mother’s things, he saw a box inside her freezer.
“I’m 37 and it has been in my freezer for 37 years and I was always told it was like a wedding cake topping,” Smith was quoted as saying.
Smith was shocked to see that the box contained a frozen baby wrapped in a pink fleece.
“It still had skin, hair and everything, it was mummified,” Smith said in the report. “After that, I just freaked out. I put it back into the box and I called police right away.”
Smith was always brushed aside by his mother whenever he asked about the box. He now remembers his mom talking about his sister who passed away before he was born.
“We’re saying what, 46 or 47 [years], that’s how long, I assume it’s my sister, it’s been in a box, in a freezer for this long,” Smith was quoted as saying. “Finding this, I’m more confused, angry and I just wanna find closure, I wanna know more answers.”
