Farmer hacks another farmer then kills self in Palawan

CITY OF CALAPAN – A farmer killed himself after hacking to death another farmer in a rice field in Dumaran town in Palawan province on Thursday, police said.

Lt. Col. Socrates Faltado, Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) police information officer, said Nilo Gacho, 42, hacked Eduard Mondragon, 35, while they were in a rice field at 6:10 a.m. in Sitio (sub-village) Casipulo, Barangay Santo Tomas.

Gacho, without apparent reason, hit Mondragon on the nape and left arm, killing him instantly, Faltado said.

Gacho immediately went home and drank a liquid pesticide, he added.
