Notorious ‘shabu’ peddler fall in Lucena buy-bust

LUCENA CITY –– Police arrested a suspected drug pusher in a buy-bust operation here early Thursday.

Anti-illegal drugs operatives collared Francis Ferreras, 22, after he sold “shabu” (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in a transaction in Barangay Cotta around 2:30 a.m.

The suspect, tagged by the police as a notorious shabu peddler in the village, yielded a cigarette pack containing five plastic sachets of shabu weighing 27 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P49,950.

The confiscated illegal drugs are worth P148,500 in the street market at P5,500 per gram.

Police said the suspect was a former detainee on drug charges who regained his freedom on plea bargaining agreement with the court in July last year.
