3 arrested in QC drug bust

MANILA, Philippines – Three suspected drug peddlers were arrested after they were caught with more than P40,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) during a buy-bust in Quezon City on Tuesday night.

Operatives from the Batasan police station under Lt. Col. Joel Villanueva arrested Benedicto Beltran, 50, his partner Mildred Beltran, 46, and Sherwin Montera, 46, during the bust along Matapang Street Area B in Barangay Payatas at around 8 p.m.

Seized from the three were 6.20 grams of shabu worth P42,160, a digital weighing scale and the P200 marked cash used in the bust.

Villanueva said Benedicto and Montera are known big-time drug pushers and are included in the watchlist of the Directorate for Intelligence.  /muf
