SC reorganizes 3 court divisions, raffle committees

MANILA, Philippines — Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin has ordered the reorganization of the three divisions of the Supreme Court.

Under Special Order No. 2683, Bersamin chairs the Court’s first division, with Associate Justice Estela Perlas-Bernabe as the working chairperson and Associate Justices Francis Jardeleza, Alexander Gesmundo, and Rosmari Carandang as regular members.

Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio chairs the second division with Associate Justices Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, Jose Reyes Jr., Amy Lazaro-Javier, and Henri Jean Paul Inting as regular members.

The third division is chaired by Associate Justice Diosdado Peralta with Associate Justices Marvic Mario Victor Leonen, Andres Reyes Jr., Ramon Paul Hernando, and Inting as its regular members.

With the reorganization of the Court divisions, the second and third divisions — where Inting are both members of — were tasked to schedule sessions at different times to allow Inting to attend both sessions.

The three divisions hold sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays. The full court, meanwhile, meets on Tuesdays.

Raffle committees

Bersamin also ordered the reorganization of the raffle committees effective Monday, July 29.

Under Special Order No. 2685, the en banc raffle committee will be chaired by Carpio with Perlas-Bernabe and Jardeleza as its members.

The division raffle committee, meanwhile, will be chaired by Peralta with Leonen and Caguioa as its members. /jpv
