2 arrested for raping call agent

Two of four men accused of raping a 19-year-old call center agent on her way home were arrested on Monday evening.

Senior Superintendent Marcelino Pedrozo, Quezon City Police District Station 4 chief, identified the two as Benjamin Canengneng, 23, and his brother Jerome, 18.

Still being sought by the people are the Canengnengs’ other brother, Mario, 20, and a certain Michael.

The four men were accosted by barangay (village) watchmen as they were raping the victim at a vacant lot in Sierra Vista Subdivision, Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon, Novaliches, Quezon City.

Only Jerome, however, was arrested while the others escaped. Benjamin was later arrested in a relative’s house.

The victim told the police that she was on her way home from work at around 2 a.m. when four men on two motorcycles blocked her path in Basa Compound.

They took her bag and then dragged her to the vacant lot where they took turns raping her.
