Moderate to heavy rain likely in Metro Manila by Monday evening – Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — Moderate to heavy rain with lightning and strong winds may be expected over Metro Manila by Monday evening, the state weather bureau said in a late afternoon advisory.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), some provinces like in Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Quezon in Luzon region will also experience moderate to heavy rain within the next two hours.
“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” Pagasa said.
Pagasa earlier said two to four tropical cyclones are likely to hit the country in August. These weather disturbances, it noted, would mostly affect the northern part of the country.
Further, Pagasa said a low-pressure area has formed over the West Philippine Sea and it has expected it to develop into a tropical storm. /kga
