JBC opens applications for CA post
MANILA, Philippines — The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) has opened applications and recommendations for the position of presiding justice of the Court of Appeals (CA) with the incumbent occupant, Romeo Barza set to compulsorily retire on Aug. 2.
Supreme Court clerk of court Edgar Aricheta, ex-officio JBC secretary, said on Friday that interested applicants must submit their application or recommendation with conforme, together with all the requirements, to the JBC office in Manila not later than Sept. 10.
These include notarized personal data sheet, transcript of law school records, birth certificate, certificate of admission to the Bar and membership to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), certificate of employment if from the private sector; and all records of government service.
The JBC must also be provided with medical clearances as well as other clearances for pending administrative cases or criminal complaints issued by the Office of the Bar Confidant, the IBP, the Office of the Ombudsman, the National Bureau of Investigation and the Philippine National Police. —JEROME ANING
