CEBU CITY –– Police have been deployed to ensure that all lotto outlets in Cebu are closed down in compliance with the directive of President Duterte.

Brigadier Gen. Debold Sinas, police director for Central Visayas, said policemen have been told to check all lotto outlets to ensure that they were shut down.

He said they had two days to implement the order received from Camp Crame.

Sinas said there would be no exemptions – from the kiosks in the malls down to the small outlets on the streets.

The police were directed to post a sign that read: “CLOSED: Not Allowed to Operate” to inform the bettors about the closure order.

Those who refused to cooperate would be invited to the police stations, said Sinas.

Employees of lotto outlets would be given a few minutes to close down.

“If they wouldn’t close, then we will be the one to close them down,” the police director said. /lzb
