‘Habagat’ to bring rain over Luzon, Visayas on Saturday

MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies and scattered rains are expected over Luzon and Visayas due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat” on Saturday, the state weather bureau said.

In a weather update from Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), weather specialist Meno Mendoz said isolated thunderstorms will persist in Northern Luzon on Saturday afternoon or night.

Mendoza noted that cloudy skies with scattered rain will prevail over Metro Manila and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon).

The Visayas meanwhile will experience cloudy skies and scattered rain also due to the effects of the habagat.  /muf
