MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde said he is willing to accept a Cabinet position if President Rodrigo Duterte offers him a post.

“That depends on the Commander in Chief. That depends on the President. Who am I to refuse?” Albayalde told ABS-CBN News Channel’s Headstart on Thursday when asked if he was willing to join Duterte’s Cabinet after his retirement as PNP chief.

“I am still willing to work if the President says so,” Albayalde added.

Albayalde is expected to step down as the PNP chief in November this year.

The PNP chief, likewise, said he is also preparing for his retirement. /je
