HS principal, DepEd officer shot dead in Negros Oriental

MANILA, Philippines – A high school principal and his sister, a DepEd officer, were shot dead right inside their residence in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental Thursday morning.

The Negros Oriental police said Arthur Cordevilla Bayawa, 55,  a high school principal, and his sister Ardale Cordevilla Bayawa, 49, who is the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) chief of the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Guihulngan City were shot and killed by several assassins who forcibly entered the Bayawa siblings’ residence in Barangay Hibaiyo at around 12:55 a.m.

The gunmen fled after the attack while the baldy wounded siblings were brought to Guihulngan District Hospital where they later expired.

Meanwhile, Romeo Arbole Alipan, 64, was also killed by several armed men in his residence in Barangay Poblacion at around 1:40 a.m.

Alipan was likewise brought to Guihulngan District Hospital where he died.
