MANILA, Philippines — A visibly irked Manila Mayor Isko Moreno ordered the relief of the Plaza Miranda police chief after finding Carriedo street strewn with garbage during a drive-through past midnight Wednesday.

“Sinong major diyan [sa Plaza Miranda]?” Moreno asked while instructing his driver to follow a certain route along Carriedo but said :”Makakadaan pa ba? Walang daan paano pati sa gitna ng kalye eh basura, vendor.”

Aside from the piles of garbage, blue tents owned by the vendors were also found along Carriedo Street.

Moreno previously ordered the clearing of Carriedo of illegal vendors.

“Ito po ang Carriedo,” Moreno said as he continued his ride inside his vehicle while showing his viewers the state of Carriedo Street. “May mga nakababang gamit ah,” Moreno added.

“Nasa paligid [yung vendors ng Plaza Miranda]. Yung Carriedo sinabi kong wag nilang babalikan e,” he said as he lauded the area of Plaza Miranda compared to Carriedo street

Moreno also earlier ordered the relief of the Lawton police precinct chief after finding Bonifacio Shrine in disarray and littered with human waste.
