ILIGAN CITY, Philippines – Forensic experts from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will begin on Tuesday post-mortem examination on unidentified fatalities in the flood wrought by tropical storm Sendong.

The process will be done at the morgue of the Cosmopolitan Funeral Homes where all cadavers will be brought.

Dr. Reynaldo Ramiro, head of the forensics team, said the NBI and the Iligan local government have agreed that the scheduled burial of the unidentified cadavers would push through after undergoing the post-mortem examination.

The mass burial of the cadavers were set Monday afternoon but was called off after Mayor Lawrence Cruz found that the construction of the “apartment-type” tombs were still underway.
