MANILA, Philippines — A 17-year-old girl was hurt in a shooting incident in Taguig City early Tuesday morning.

An initial investigation by the Taguig City police showed that the victim was walking along Purok 6 in Barangay Tipas to buy ice when she spotted the suspect arguing with a woman at around 5 a.m.

Police said the suspect then shot the woman during the argument and the bullet ricocheted and hit the victim’s right shoulder.

The suspect and an unidentified companion then fled on foot after the shooting. The injured girl was meanwhile rushed to a nearby hospital by witnesses, police said.

Elements of the Taguig City police are still conducting a follow-up investigation.  /muf
