According to the recent annual report of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, the total actual volume of garbage disposed of by the agency’s Solid Waste Management Office in 2018 was 12,125,081.71 cubic meters.
The figure was higher compared to 2017’s actual volume of 10,731,126.57 cu. m.
The garbage was divided among three disposal facilities: Rizal Provincial Sanitary Landfill, Navotas Sanitary Landfill and New San Mateo Sanitary Landfill. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
