CEBU CITY—A 41-year-old man suffered a heart attack and died after watching the latest fight of Manny Pacquiao on Sunday (July 21).
Lorenz Dizon, a resident of Barangay Kalunasan, was rushed to the Vicente Sotto Medical Memorial Center (VSMMC) at 1:35 p.m but was declared dead on arrival.
Guadalupe Barangay Captain Michael Gacasan said village officials got a call for help for a man who could hardly breathe after watching the fight at the village hall.
Gacasan said Dizon had already returned home after watching the fight when he suffered the attack.
Dizon’s brother attributed it to the boxing match.
He said Lorenz has a blood clot in the heart and had been discharged from the hospital just on Saturday (July 20), a day before the Pacquiao fight.
Another fan, Margarito Casquejo, 60, of the village of Sawang Calero, was also rushed to hospital after having difficulty breathing while celebrating Pacquiao’s victory. Casquejo is now in stable condition,
