This Week’s Festivals: July 21 – 27, 2019
Residents of the agricultural town of Barili in Cebu province give thanks for a bountiful harvest from its farmlands, locally called “kaumahan,” where the festival got its name.
Activities include novena Masses, an agricultural fair, civic parade, dance party and beauty pageant.
Dubbed the “rice granary of Albay,” Libon town in Albay province showcases “paroy,” or rice, its main agricultural product. There will be a procession, tourism trade and agricultural fair and exhibit, farmer’s forum, paralympic games and literary contest.
