MANILA, Philippines — In line with President Rodrigo Duterte’s fourth State of the Nation Address (Sona) on Monday, July 22, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) said it has enforced limited and no-fly zones in the House of Representatives in Batasan Complex and its immediate vicinity.
In a statement released Saturday, Caap said the order will be enforced from July 20-23 to “ensure security and safety” during the first regular session of the 18th Congress and Duterte’s upcoming Sona.
Drones and aircraft are limited from flying at a vertical limit of 700 feet AGL (above ground level) within the 10-kilometer radius of Batasan Pambansa 9 a.m. of July 20 to 11 a.m. of July 21.
Meanwhile, training flights of flying schools within Luzon are also suspended from July 22, 12 a.m. to July 23, 12 a.m.
On the day of the President’s Sona, a no-fly zone will be enforced from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. within four nautical miles radius from the surface to 10,000 feet AMSL (above mean sea level) of the House of Representatives.
Caap also issued a notice declaring the 10-kilometer radius around Plaridel, Bulacan a no-fly zone on Monday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. /muf
