MANILA, Philippines — Despite being a millennial, it looks like Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto has not been acquainted with the recent memes netizens have been coming up with.
Sotto was among the early bird mayors who suspended the classes for Wednesday. But the netizens’ replies seemed to confuse the young mayor.

His announcement via Twitter was flooded by netizens with comments referencing to ABS-CBN’s afternoon drama series “Kadenang Ginto.”
“Cassie hindi ka muna papasok sa iskol,” one netizen quoted the mayor’s Twitter post, referring to one of the show’s character portrayed by Francine Diaz.

A puzzled Sotto quoted the netizen’s tweet and asked: “Sino po ba si Cassie at puro ganito ang reply niyo sa kin? Ano yun, lahat kayo may kapatid na Cassie ang pangalan?”

“Someone explain this meme to me pls para makatulog na ko,” Sotto added.
The said meme was referring to an episode where antagonist Daniela Mondragon (Dimples Romana) tried to stop Cassie (Diaz) from coming to school as requested by her daughter Marga (Andrea Brillantes).
The scene became even more popular when a certain Ryry Villacosta reenacted the scene and posted it on Facebook.
The video has garnered more than 100,000 views and 2,700 shares, as of this writing. /jpv
