MANILA, Philippines — An executive judge of the Taguig Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC) lost P40,000 in cash and other valuables while working out in a Pasay City gym on Tuesday afternoon.
Pasay police identified the victim as Hon. Judge Bernard Bernal, 41, executive judge of Taguig City MTC Branch 74.
Police said Bernal entered the gym and placed his personal things inside his locker to start his workout session at around 3:45 p.m.
After his workout, Bernal returned to his locker and discovered that his items were already missing.
Police among the lost items included his wallet, a diamond ring worth P275,000, the P40,000 cash, his driver’s license, a credit card; and his Integrated Bar of the Philippines card.
Police said there was no closed-circuit television (CCTV) installed in the gym’s locker area.
Bernal then immediately reported the theft to the Pasay police for investigation. /muf
