Cops nab ex-cemetery employee who swindled over P1M in Albay

TABACO CITY –– Police arrested a former employee of a funeral service and cemetery company in the city, who swindled a total of P1,019,782, on Monday afternoon in Barangay Bantayan, a police report said Tuesday.

Blessilda Perez was arrested in her home at 3:14 p.m. after she failed to deposit to the account of the employer her collections from the clients of Sanctuario De Albay Memorial Gardens Inc., police said.

Police added that even after her termination from the company, she continued to issue receipts and collect payments amounting to P30,000.

Juan Rocha, owner of the funeral service and cemetery company, filed the report against Perez.
