The Bureau of Immigration (BI) warned the public anew against scammers who sell cheap but fake airline tickets after BI officers at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) intercepted 13 Filipino passengers bound for Hong Kong who were caught in possession of fake boarding passes.
According to BI Port Operations Division Chief Grifton Medina, the passengers consisting of seven men and six women were intercepted last Monday at the airline counter of Cathay Pacific at Naia Terminal 3.
Medina said the passengers were immediately turned over to the BI after Cathay Pacific personnel found that the self-printed boarding passes they presented were not in the manifest and were not issued tickets by the airline. —Tina G. Santos
