1 dead, 1 hurt in Quezon motorcycle accident
LUCENA CITY — A motorcycle rider was killed and another one was injured in a vehicular accident along the Maharlika highway in Tiaong town in Quezon province early Sunday.
A report from the Tiaong police said that both motorcyclists — Victorino Vitago, 43, and Jayson Rasay, 25 — were traveling aboard their separate motorcycles in Barangay Lagalag at about 12:20 a.m.
But as Vitago was making a left turn, Rasay, who was running behind, overtook Vitago’s motorcycle at the same time and consequently bumped into the vehicle ahead.
Both riders were thrown off from their motorcycles, landed on the pavement, and sustained body injuries.
Vitago died on the spot.
Police found out that the Vitago was driving without a license.
Police said both parties agreed to amicably settle the matter out of court. /je
