MANILA, Philippines – Angat Dam’s water level continued to drop below critical level on Sunday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The state weather bureau reported that water level in Metro Manila’s main source of water dipped to 159.15 meters as of 6:00 a.m., Sunday — lower than the 159.45 meters measured on Saturday morning.

Thus, water level in Angat Dam is now 0.85 meters below the dam’s critical level of 160 meters, and 50.85 meters below its Normal High Water Level.

But days of rainfall brought by Tropical Depression “Egay” and southwest monsoon helped the water level in Angat Dam increase and surpass critical level before dipping back below critical level anew this month.

Meanwhile, water level in other dams in the country also dipped,  including Ipo Dam, Ambuklao Dam, San Roque Dam, Pantabangan Dam, Magat Dam, and Caliraya Dam while water level in La Mesa Dam and Bingo Dam slightly increased.  /gsg
