MANILA, Philippines — The water level in Angat Dam, Metro Manila’s primary source of water, was measured at 159.69 meters at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, still below the 160-meter critical level.
Dam information from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the reservoir water in Angat decreased by 0.24 meters from Thursday 6:00 a.m.’s 159.93 meters.
The water level on Friday was 50.31 meters below Angat’s 210-meter normal high water level.
The continuous drop in the dam’s water level in the past days has triggered Maynilad to “fine-tune” its water distribution.
“To ensure that the limited supply is equitably and efficiently distributed to its customers, Maynilad will be implementing a new schedule of rotational service interruptions beginning July 9, 2019,” Maynilad said on its Facebook page.
Manila Water has also released its new schedule of rotational water service interruption in select parts Metro Manila East Zone, the concessionaire announced over Facebook. /muf
