MANILA, Philippines — Forty-one students were hospitalized due to alleged food poisoning at a cafe in Imus City, Cavite, police said Thursday.
Lt. Col. Junar Alamo, chief of Imus City police, told INQUIRER.net in an interview that the three students were rushed to the Our Lady of Pillar Medical Center after reportedly drinking beverages at a school cafe of the Imus Institute of Science and Technology on Wednesday.
Thirty-eight were also rushed to the hospital on Thursday, he said.
Of the total victims, only seven are still being treated while the rest have been released from the hospital.
He said investigators have yet to identify the cause for food poisoning.
