COPENHAGEN, Denmark — Norwegian police say the body of a Finnish man who was one of four people killed by an avalanche in January has been found.
Police in the northern city of Tromsoe said Wednesday a search dog found the victim after attempts to locate him after the Jan. 2 avalanche were postponed due to heavy snowfall and poor visibility.
The victim — a 36-year-old Finn earlier named as Niklas Nyman — was part of a party that was swept away by a 300-meter wide avalanche in the Tamok valley. The bodies of two Finnish men and a Swedish woman were found in the days following the avalanche.
