Duterte names new CA, CTA justices
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed four new Associate Justices of the Court of Appeals (CA) and one Associate Justice of the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA).
Duterte signed on Monday the appointment papers of the new members of the CA, namely, Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Alfredo Ampuan; San Mateo, Rizal RTC Judge Lily Joy Biton; Makati City RTC Judge Carlito Calpatura; and Quezon City RTC Judge Angelene Mary Quimpo-Sale.
Duterte also appointed Manila Judge Jean Marie Bacorro-Villena as new Associate Justice of the Court of Tax Appeals.
The appointment papers of the new CA and CTA judges were released to the media on Tuesday.
Other new appointees are Felino Castro, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology; and Ma. Minerva Paez-Collantes, Commissioner representing the employers’ sector of the National Labor Relations Commission. (Editor: Eden Estopace)
