MANILA, Philippines —Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero still enjoys the trust and confidence of President Rodrigo Duterte after the Chief Executive said he would be sacking Customs officials.

“I think so because he has not mentioned anything about him. Wala namang binabanggit sa kanya,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a Palace briefing.

In a speech in Alangalang town in Leyte on Friday, he said he would “be firing more from the Bureau of Customs” but did not disclose their identities and the reasons.
