Isko Moreno to garbage contractors: Don’t sabotage this admin, hahabulin ko kayo

MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has warned garbage contractors that he will go after them if they “ruin” or “sabotage” the current administration and violate their contracts.

“Sabi ko doon sa dalawang contractor, ‘pag-igihan ninyo, it [may] cost a person’s career because of you. Never ruin, sabotage this administration,’” Moreno said in an interview over ABS CBN News Channel on Tuesday.

“I will recognize and respect a valid contract, but violation of provisions of it that affects the general welfare of our citizens, hahabulin ko kayo hanggang sa dulo nang walang hanggan,” he added.

The Manila mayor has vowed to initiate moves to clean up the capital city. He said he is targeting first to clean up garbage seen on the streets of Manila.

“First things first, ayoko ng basura sa kalsada because this generate more problems on sanitation,” he said.

However, Moreno said he is considering implementing a “waste to energy” program as part of clean up activities.

“I’ve talked to two proponents already, they presented and I like the idea. It’s clean and gives power to the community,” he said. (Editor: Jonathan P. Vicente)
