MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has reshuffled its district collectors in the country’s major ports.
Ma. Rhea Gregorio, the acting district collector of the Port of Manila, was designated as Port of San Fernando district collector. She replaced Ruby Claudia Alameda, who was assigned as Port of Clark district collector.
Alameda replaced Lilibeth Sandag, who was moved to Ninoy Aquino International Airport as deputy collector for operations.
Sandag took the place of Michael Angelo Vargas, who was assigned as district collector at the Port of Limay.
Arsenia Ilagan, the former district collector at the Port of Legazpi, was named district collector at the Port of Manila.
Guillermo Francia, the acting district collector of the Port of Limay, will hold the same position at the Manila International Container Port.
Francia replaced Erastus Sandino Austria, who was transferred to the Port of Davao as district collector.
Austria took the place of lawyer Romalino Valdez, who was assigned as acting district collector at the Port of Batangas.
Edward Ibera, who used to be the acting district collector at the Port of Batangas, is now the port’s deputy collector for assessment.
The reshuffle was part of Customs Commissioner Rey Guerrero’s plan to restrategize after the bureau’s midyear performance evaluation, according to Assistant Commissioner Vincent Philip Maronilla. —Tina G. Santos
